Welded Metal Antelope Sculpture – Silent Antelope
Silent Antelope is a welded metal antelope sculpture I created using reclaimed steel tools and industrial materials from the shop. I enjoy transforming familiar objects into sculptural forms, and with this piece, I wanted to capture the quiet presence and elegance of a standing antelope.
First, I built the sculpture using MIG welding and reclaimed metal components. The antelope’s distinctive horns come from curved pliers, while rectangular steel tubing creates the body. Smaller steel elements shape the legs and tail, giving the figure a balanced and minimalist silhouette. Because these materials already carried their own textures and history, the sculpture naturally developed a strong industrial character.
Next, I sealed the sculpture with a clear coat. This finish protects the metal while preserving the natural tones, textures, and subtle patina of the raw steel. As a result, the piece keeps its rugged industrial look while gaining durability.
At 18 inches tall, this welded metal antelope sculpture makes a striking piece of industrial tabletop décor. For example, it displays well on a desk, shelf, console table, or workshop display. Its tall silhouette and clean lines therefore work especially well in modern interiors, studios, offices, or creative spaces.
Finally, because each sculpture is handcrafted from reclaimed steel, every piece carries its own unique variations and character, making it truly one of a kind.
